Gaelic Games Europe Celebrates 25 Years with Landmark Féile in Amsterdam

Gaelic Games Europe (GGE) proudly marks a significant milestone in 2025 as it celebrates 25 years since its foundation. This year’s Féile, held in Amsterdam, carries special resonance, returning to the very city where the European County Board was first established in 1999.

Twelve clubs from six different countries will gather in the Dutch capital to take part in what is set to be the largest Féile in the history of the competition. This event is the fourth in a series of Féile tournaments organised across Europe — each one surpassing the last in scale, participation, and spirit — and Amsterdam 2025 is set to raise the bar yet again, with a 200% increase in participation from the launch in Vannes in 2022!

From modest beginnings, Gaelic Games Europe has evolved into a dynamic and expanding association, now encompassing nearly 100 clubs in 23 countries. The rapid growth of its youth section reflects the vibrancy and increasing relevance of Gaelic Games abroad. While exciting, this growth brings new challenges, particularly in delivering sustainable development across such a broad geographic region.

In this context, GGE is especially pleased to announce the support of Jones Engineering for this year’s Féile. Jones Engineering’s commitment to excellence, community and long-term development aligns seamlessly with the core values of the GAA. GGE is delighted to partner with such a forward-thinking organisation and looks forward to a strong and successful relationship.

As a company with a global presence and strong Irish roots, Jones Engineering recognises the value of the dedication, teamwork and loyalty demonstrated by GAA members. The company is continuously recruiting talented individuals across a wide range of disciplines and encourages members of the GAA community — both at home and abroad — to explore the many exciting career opportunities available within the organisation.
