30 young Bretons went to their first ever international Gaelic football tournament on the island of Jersey on July 6! The teams from Liffré, Lorient and Vannes were present for Brittany alongside the teams from Jersey and Guernsey.
The Breton teams were represented in the three categories U10, U12 and U14 and the 6 hours of travel did not discourage our young people who managed to win some great victories! No trophy for the Bretons but this tournament showed the increase in the level of play in all categories which is very encouraging for the future! The practice of Gaelic football is increasing among young people in Brittany and the participation of teams in international competitions is a real lever for development!
The stay was also an opportunity for them to meet young foreign players and discover the island of Jersey. The atmosphere and mutual kindness that prevails among the Breton teams allowed everyone to spend an exceptional weekend. The teams are now united as never before and the motivation of the young people is at its highest level! They all already want to improve and go back to playing international competitions!
