RTE Sport’s Raf Diallo waxes lyrical about Lovely Leitrim and a 30 year reunion with a World Cup star

It’s a long way from Leitrim to Cameroon, so how did RTE Sports Journalist Raf Diallo meet Cameroon World Cup star Francois Omam Biyik in 1989?

We ask him how important GAA is in generating a sense of place and home, especially for those living abroad.  He tells of the difficulty of fielding teams in rural schools and how that has a knock on effect for the GAA.

Having won all around him with Team 33, he is now producing amazing content for RTE, including a timely reminder of how Jack Charlton got Irish football flying in Iceland and an excellent series on Irish footballers who braved the wilds of Europe to make a living.
