On Saturday 11th of March, Hamburg GAA Chairman, Stephen O’ Rourke presented a signed Hamburg GAA jersey to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. The jersey will be displayed in the museum’s ‘Gaelic Games Gallery’, which acknowledges the great work being done by GAA clubs around the globe. The club is delighted to collaborate with EPIC on this project and share our experience with those who visit the exhibition.
EPIC had this to say about the partnership: “Yesterday we welcomed Hamburg GAA to EPIC, whose club will form the centre piece of our Gaelic Games gallery. Gaelic Games and clubs abroad have been a constant cornerstone for Irish emigrant communities around the world since for over 100 years, and continue to play an important role in bringing Gaelic games and Irish culture to wider audiences.”
This is a remarkable achievement and such a proud moment for all at the club, which shows how far we have come and recognises the contributions we are making together to the Irish community and diaspora abroad.
We urge all our friends and supporters to visit the museum when you’re in Dublin and check out our jersey on display and read all about our Club and story.
Our sincere thanks go to Sarah, Colin, Nathan, Fiona and all staff at EPIC for their kind support and enthusiasm!
