- Croatian Celts, Zagreb
Based in Zagreb, the Croatian Celts are the only GAA club in the Region.
The membership comprises mainly Irish and Croatian persons, but we also have members originally from Australia, England, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA.
The Club trains twice a week. In the brighter part of the year, training takes place in Mala Salata on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. In the darker period – November to March – Tuesday training is more normally conditioning training on the banks of the Sava near Trnje/Savica.
We have travelled to tournaments in Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest, as well as a friendly in the latter city. Indeed, we were the first visitors to the Budapest club after the stringent measures incurred during the Covid epidemic were relaxed.
In our time, we have also hosted visitors from the Netherlands, Czechia and Slovakia.
The Club is always open to new members. But in addition, visitors or temporary residents in the Zagreb area, such as contract workers or Erasmus students are very welcome to come and train with us. We have several of the latter regularly training at the moment.
